Suitable for heavy make up?If you wear a lot of make-up, we would suggest you use an oily balm based cleanser first and then use this Cleanse & Shave Mud as your second cleanse. We have amazing results in our salons doing this but for very heavy eye make-up something oilier would work better first. Truthful as always!

Natural & organic? Entirely natural with organic ingredients. Most brands would happily say 100%. Proverb means truth. All emulsions made in the UK have to have a preservative. We use the organic certification allowed preservative dehydroacetic acid. Although you are allowed to label it natural it isn’t truly. There is 0.6% in the bottle as legally require.

In vitro & in vivo lab proven actives? Yes, we have selected many active ingredients with strong in vitro and in vivo testing results for the individual ingredients. Combining this with researching the source, origins and ethics of each ingredient.

‘Clean’ brands tend to be younger and newer to market and thus don’t usually invest the large amount of funds needed to clinically trial products to prove results in an independent lab. Not us; we are firmly committed to do this as the clean, organic and natural sector has to prove it works. As we grow the brand, we will grow the investment into clinical testing as a priority but below are our test results so far!

Freeze dried acai berry powder has the highest ORAC value (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) of any other fruit/berry per 100g serving.

Stage one with the Nutri Mud is to get used to it as it is such a different texture to most face wash and cleansers! We are always truthful and it takes an open mind which once people conquer they tell us they would never go back! It helps to not use too much in this phase and ensure you use some water with it.

Your skin should immediately look calmer and more of an even colour tone once you have used the Cleanse and Shave Nutrient Mud.

Skin should never feel tight or dry after washing or showering. So, if this normally happens to you - we would expect over the first 2-3 weeks this should reduce, especially if you are combining the Cleanse & Shave Mud with any of our moisturisers.

You should feel fresh and clean every time you use it.

If you suffer from shaving rash then we would expect this to reduce every time you use it till ideally you no longer suffer with it. You need to rinse your blade with very hot water to remove the mud residue from the metal during shaving.

Remember as your skin cycle is approximately 28 days when you change to any new skincare, you should commit to 4 weeks to ensure your skin likes it.

It has a very unique texture - like whipped mud that glides on and makes your skin feel cool. Apply it neat and it feels like a creamy clay mask texture. However, as soon as you add water to your face it becomes an emulsified creamy face wash allowing you to really massage the skin and boost blood and nutrients to the skin cells.

The combination of natural clays is crucial to the anti-redness and smooth, even skin colour, but they are white. All skins - but especially darker skins definitely need a clean face flannel or muslin cloth to remove it. This is a win, as the cloth will also provide a gentle exfoliation.
